Crystal - 11/21/12 50th Opening Day!

Knowing it would be a huge line at the Gondy (why wasn't Chinook running?) we got in line early, 8:00, and spent an hour reconnecting and making new friends. Once up the mountain, not a line all day (some people waited in line 20 minutes while the other side of GV had a 1 minute line). Great snow that was packed down by the end of the day. A little icy where the wind had blown, nice pow on the other side. A bonus end-of-the-day powder run down the late opening Snorting Elk capped a great day that wore my legs out.

Assuming that the ski area actually opened at all during 1976-77.

1976-77 was actually very good from mid February on. We had lots of good snow and very light crowds cause everybody packed it in early. A good powder, Northback spring.

Twas the day before Thanksgiving..... and the conditions were surprisingly great! I expected that they would be downloading, but pretty good coverage all the way to the bottom. Green Valley had some nice pow there early on (drove up the night before, slept in the car so was in line REALLY early). Did 21,000 vertical, pretty good for the season opener!

Sure was nice to ride the lifts again
