Very nice day in the end…very cold, big east winds that impacted early lift speed or maybe the true nature of REX just showed up today with a fair number of chair problems at the bottom, running slow and a fair number of stops, and to top it all off only one lift opp at the base during the early afternoon to handle any problems, oh well. Good vis, high overcast mostly with some filtered sun at times, fair sized early crowd, but the temps and winds kept most of the folks inside. Snow quality off piste was very nice and a lot better than expected, everywhere from Chute 2 on High Campbell, to Powder Bowl/Bear Pits (my fav line), Upper Sunnyside and lots of places off of the GV chair (main bowl, Grubstake, Snort Elk bowl (very sweet late), West Face….Only major negatives (other than the wind and temps) was the top of GV chair, looked like someone was spreading a bag or two of gravel. Same getting off REX and hooking back to the front side. Good day with SMS and JD, nice to see Big Bob and Maria (sp?). ddk
