Hate to say it but today was my first alpy day all season. Quite unusual. Chair two line was a shitshow all day as was the low t when it finally opened, but the skiing was bloody good.
Took thing #1 with me for a day of hooky from high school.

Brad, Stugie and I had fab day. They showed me around Alpental, my first time above Debbie's Gold. I didn't care much for Elevator, but the young bucks had a great time. Once I found Edelweiss and the far right side of that one, I was set for life...well for today anyway. Skied till my legs stopped working. Saw Silas and Kelvin

Both laps in the BC were totally worth every ounce of effort. Shot 6 gets an honorable mention.
The cornices were sorta menacing on the traverse. The combination of the sun coming out and dropping a couple of those, plus the skier triggered slide (somewhere past Stokes Bowl??) probably shut the party down. Thanks to the patrol for their work all day, including closing the gates when they thought they had to.

Skiing was great. I got there late, had three sweet laps in the BC after noon, and then got my dose of Vitamin-R. Glad that the traverse was downhill under the school bus cornices. Last week the traverse had an uphill section right under the big cornice, making for some nervous side-stepping. Another thanks to patrol!

Amazing how complex and intimidating the Alpy BC is eh? Thanks for the great company Stugie and Don, and to Patrol for letting us drop into the BC for a lap (closing the gate as we went through), remember 07-08 when the conditions were like that almost daily? Let's hope for La Nina in 10-11!
