Dogonne these modern kids with their flexible work schedules, and they seem to be "sick" when the weather is cold and wet! Chair two opened right away, and the line was 20 minutes. We stayed on chair one and did laps with no lines and fresh tracks in the 9" of new snow. The backcountry opened midday for the first time since Sunday, it was soft and fluffy, no sun and no wind to foul the rhythmic turns, very nice. April showers bring May flowers, and smiles to powder skiers.

Elevator opened up around 10:15 (I think). Man it was good. Best face shots I've had all year at Alpental. Very nice, dry snow.
I too am confused by the amount of people that can escape on a weekday. But it snowed so hard the first few hours everyone was able to get some!

Nash opened at 1:30 for a little over an hour. Conditions in the BC were excellent, with 2+ feet of settled snow with 4 inches of blower on top. The top few inches readily sluffed on steeper aspects, and the patrol said someone triggered a sizable slab towards the Pinapple pass bowl.
The cornices above Great Scott Bowl were tender looking as they glistened in the sun. There was some evidence of naturals, possibly started by cornice drops. Hence the quick closure of the BC as temps rose.
There was also an avalanche-caused injury in the Commonwealth that required a heli evac. I hope everyone is doing o.k. over there.

Good good fun today, So good that the lure of no tracks in the BC, got me my semi-annual cliff out. It seems that once every few years the snow is so nice I miss a turn, and woops. I think I herd it called friskey skiing down there. Well thanks, Don, for waiting while I wallowed up hill

As I had to work today I headed up for an evening tour. i noticed a skin track heading up towards kendal peak. The skin track stopped at the top of a slide.... I wonder if that was what you are referring to???
