I saw the bobsled competition on Universal Sports today. It will be airing for the next few days.
Very cool for your niece Joe. She seems to have a bright future in the sport since she transferred from the skeleton. Did I understand correctly that she won the national championship this year? Anyway, less than a second off of the top time which was a course record!
If that bothers you so much, maybe next time you guys should spring for a room with two beds. :

As far as that "other" subject goes, as we checked into the hotel, we wondered why the female hotel clerks weren't flirting on us as they usually do when I check into a hotel. My first experience of discrimination.

She did win the National Title! The Whistler course record is a little deceiving being the first time there has been a World Cup race there.
Further she started out a few years ago as skeleton racer on literally rickety old gear and had worked her way up the lower ranks. She did OK. This year she stepped up to the 2-person bobsled, so she has to work her way up again in a VERY competitive circuit without a sponsor, since Home Depot dropped out.
She has not qualified for the Olympics yet even though she won Nationals, they are still the 3rd USA sled, she has to beat out a Russian team in the next race to qualify, if I have that right.
She and her brake woman deserve all the credit! Really she is a very determined, nice, down to earth, witty, intellectual gal, that said from an unbiased Uncle view of course
.
The kicker was after the race we were taking the gondola down to the village with my Brother and Sister in law (Bree's parents) and Scotsman assumed and mentioned to my MUCH older brother that was older than him >
As if he wasn't feeling good already!
And my sister in law tried to placate the mess by generalizing that mountain living just makes you look older from the weather-Boy, that made me feel better!
