Bad News--Silver Fir getting new chair

I disagree. Without any ticket sales or rental lodges, the Silver Fir parking lot remains the lot of choice only for season passholders -- who frequently avoid Central on weekends anyway. I only use Silver Fir lot for midweek skiing when Alpental is closed.
I wouldn't assume that they wont sell tickets there this season.
Also, with the number of season passes they sell, I hardly matters...
The old lift was slow, the new one is part of a multi stage plan of development and expansion. This lift is here now, the question is what's next?

I asked that question during our fall instructor get-together, and the unofficial answer I got was no ticket sales at Silver Fir. At least, this year. Keep in mind I asked ski school personnel, who may not be the most informed on resort plans.
Some of the other improvements made this year won't be as evident to this crowd, except for repaving Alpental Road. They're also repainting a lot of towers, cutting brush at West to even out the blues there, and they redid the ladies toilets at Central. I've heard there are plans for next year, but I don't know what they are.
Talking of future expansion, has anyone seen the topo map in the Alpental lodge that shows lifts all over the valley? It looks to be a reproduction of a 50's (?) map, but I can't say if its authentic or not. It shows lifts going up Chair Peak, and even two on the east side of the valley. If it were ever constructed like that, Alpental would be a world-class sized resort. No idea if those plans were ever considered, or if they were, what happened to the idea. Anyone know?
* ObDisclaimer: I do not represent The Summit at Snoqualmie, my views are my own, and not neccessarily those of S@S, and S@S has neither seen nor approved these comments. Translate into appropriate legalese, but basically this post isn't coming from the resort in any way, shape, or form. If I got something wrong, my bad, not theirs. Got it?

It does help explain why Warren Miller has such an attachment to Alpental, something I've always wondered myself.

If I recall correctly, there was mention in the article of possible expansion onto Snoqualmie Mt./Commonwealth basin in a long-shot attempt to try to get the Winter Olympics that may have included a tram to the top of Mt. Snoqualmie and skiing into Commonwealth, which would have made Alpental into a rather large ski area.
I heard that they also looked at running a chair to the top of Kathyn's about 10 or 15 years ago.
