Alpental 2/19

Skied virtually all kinds of snow today: Groomed, ice, corn, rotten slush, windblown, POWDER, and plenty of crap snow. Crap is defined as frozen rollerballs, glidecracks, avalanche debris, dust on crust, sticky wind drifts, and all this was in the backcountry off Knoll 1. Chair 2 open around 1:30? or so. It was great skiing once it was open though. Fun and sunny day though.

Anyone been up to Alpental in the last few days? Is the backcountry open? Thanks.

I have not skied Alpental for a while, but look at this picture from lower Elevator area that I took last weekend from the main parking lot. Many of you know of this problem area, and I have seen fracture lines on it many times, but I don't remember one like this.
Edit: I am guessing controlled release?
