That's known as the North Face of Chair, but holy cow yeah, that's an awesome crown.

Alpental had Chair 2 closed Sunday morning due to ice. Yes, ice. Their patrol really has no faith in their customer's skiing intelligence. Could you imagine if ski areas back east closed because of icy conditions? Most resorts in New Hampshire would never open.

Problem is, they have a recorded history of all the skiers that didn't make the right choice (that the patrol had to deal with), fell at the top and left a trail of gear, clothing and blood all the way to the bottom. They don't close it to keep you out, they close it because they have to regulate others that lack the judgment and skiing skills to make the right choice. This is really part of a larger problem, people who ski that aren't willing to take responsibility for their own choices when things go wrong, I.E. legal issues...

If Internationale was at Cannon they would run gates on it.
