Sick day at Crystal. Even sunny in the morning for freshies. Hit gold hills first simply becasue no one was skiing it, tons of space for lapping bottomless in the sunshine. Headed up to 6 to find a huge mob scene and decided to head elsewhere. Plenty of fluff in the stashes. Curious about dropping backside of Iceberg back to the Green Valley chair, which paid off big time. Hit that again, then off to 6 and no line. Out the traverse to Throne Chutes.....that was nice. ONly one other track down the farthest chute right before the Avalanche Basin gate. Lapped 6 a few times then headed out to the king. Frontside king was epic...love that steep goodness before the huge apron. Many faceshots and waves overtaking me....Stability seemed pretty good. Saw a few fracture lines on the entrance to the chute of choice on the king, but other than that, nothing to concern me too much. Ski cuts were not yielding much of anything at all, lots of sluffing. Glad to get some while it was good...hopefully we will see another cycle like that this year!! Nice meeting cochise and androolus.
