Yes... la nina is being very good to us. And backcountry skiing will be nice far into the Spring. The last two weeks of sunshine skiing were nice. Now for a little steep and deep.

I live in Shoreline, north of Seattle and here is my route:
I-5 all the way down to Hwy 18, Hwy 18 to the Auburn Way exit (2 lanes turn left at bottom of exit), then left on Hwy 410 in Enumclaw. That seems to be the fastest way. The key is to go early to avoid traffic. It is about 1 hour and 45 minutes if I leave at 5:45AM. If you wait until later the drive time increases. Your choice.
There are a few tricks to speed up the drive home. Auburn Way gets backed up sometimes so I turn left at Riverwalk (by the casino), take the first right, go straight through at the Stop sign (by Citgo gas station) to the road "T" (A Street I think), turn right, go under Hwy 18 and turn left. You need to be in the right of the 2 left turn lanes but if backed up, take the shorter far left lane and you have about 1 long block to move over. Going up Hwy 18 you may be faced with a fierce setting sun so be prepared with sunglasses. Many people are not and traffic can stop suddenly. At this point there are 3 lanes, the 2 on the left go through and the right lane is an exit only. The through lanes can back up from traffic going under the freeway to whatever is over there. Take the exit, go straight through the light (you will not be the only one doing this). You are now in an exit only lane to I-5 but about half the cars are cheaters trying to bypass the aforementioned backup. They may suddenly slam on the brakes, flip on their turn signal and jam into the through traffic. Be ready for this. No solution for driving north through Seattle, just tough it out.

Hi everyone,
I emailed Larry direct, but in case he doesn't check his email:
Two questions:
1. What is the quickest way to Crystal from Seattle? I usually go I-5, I-90, 405, 169 to Enumclaw etc.
2. Do you know where you take a left before Enumclaw that lets you bypass that town and then connect back up to head to Crystal Mountain BLDV etc?
Thanks!
Trent
