Nice! I planned to do some tours this July in Chile but the logistics didn't work out so I just hit Portillo. Beautiful, but not much snow at that time.
That's the policy I know, too. Nobody is going to force you to turn around, but they'll probably say something and leave it up to you to comply. At least that's how it was previous year...
