Strong work! We ascended and descended that route when we skied it in '97. Mid-June if I remember correctly. It was a big snow year and I remember the bergshrund as much more fi...
I lived at Irwin Lodge, just under Purple, for 3 years back in the 90's. I miss it...thanks for the pics! What a day....
Does anybody rope up for skiing that glacier? It looks like a minefield of crevasses....never mind the gaping bergschrunds. Doesn't look appropriate for "skiers of all abilities&...
Out of all my Grand ski adventures, this one is probably my favorite! Fun climb, too.... Nice job!
This is one of the best TR's I've ever seen....it motivated me to buy my plane ticket!

Got to spend two weeks there back in the mid-90's...glad you enjoyed it!
Sounds like a clusterphuck...any experience is good experience, I guess.

Excellent write-up and analysis...glad everything turned out OK. Good reminder for me to not ignore my instincts and observations.
Nice job getting back to it! The definition of "true grit"!
Rong-Sorry...No, I wasn't referring to you romanticizing....it was the other guy with the "roll the dice" BS, and the "don't know what you could've done differently"...
