Maple Leaf Couloir!
75 km on firm suncups! Lolz you gotta admire that chutzpah :D
One of my best ever tours early in my career was heli-touring up there! Silver Star and Big Kangaroo. Such a great little slice of the North Cascades. I'll have to get back there, thanks!
Excellent TR thanks! A winter summit of Baker with bluebird is a thing to behold. About that snopark issue, are you good if you have a National Park pass/Forest Pass? Or do you need a specific snopark...
Thanks for the stoke guys! Keep it goin. I'm just grateful I got up there once! Might not happen again I'm older than JAGR!
Thanks for that! Very refreshing as I sit here in the Okanagan Valley in the 38 degree celsius heat choking on forest fire smoke!
The sheer exuberance of it! Great fun!
Thanks buddy! Yep I bought an annual volcano pass so I'm good to go next year maybe slightly earlier in the year so not so many carries ;D
Thanks for that! Fixed the original link. Link to my TR for Camp Muir June 24 www.turns-all-year.com/skiing_snowboarding/trip_reports/index.php?topic=38754.0
Link doesn't appear to work? Any advice?
I got me some there on Saturday! Congratulations!
Glad it went well! My first trip up to Camp Muir was longer than I anticipated, 8 hours car to car and I didn't get going until 6:30. What a place! I'll be back. Thanks for the motivation!
That sled is gone man.
That's the real Shining Hotel! I need to get down there to complete the Shining trifecta (Timberline, GNP Montana, and there). Good stoke, thanks!
Right Arm! Approximately how long was the sled to Rainy?
Thanks Andy! Your website has helped me to achieve stuff in Washington/Rainy Pass areas. :D Oh and you updated the site too, cool!
Holy Crap! Glad you made it out of there safe. Another weird winter.
Those sangos need mayo!
Sounds like you were able to ski down to 6500ish? Just 3000'ft of hiking to get to snow? Not too badLOL
Yep its been my favorite place so far. Itching to go to Cascade Pass area and change it up!
Awesome write up! Ice and fire in the land of the Vikings, and roadside couloirs! Bucket list must do, thanks!
a good 260 cm up near the St. Nich/Olive Col, and deeper than the probe could reach at the Balfour High Col. For some reason there was only about 4 feet of snow on the ice in the crux crevasse area on...
Still winter up there for awhile yet!
This does seem like a new approach to 'ski mountaineering.' Like most, I have never even considered using bolt cutters or snomo-ing into a national park. Thus I suggest we nominate these int...
Thats F*&%ing HILARIOUS!
You can go on Sundays and not worry about logging vehicles. Single busiest day though...
Is this Larina? Cool! Get out much with NCMG this year? I miss Mazama, and Mt. Hood. If the weather pans out I just might tool all the way down there!
Ok, I get the last photo now, I've only been as far as the proper summit. Any sledders about?
Nice! Good to see a TR from my neck of the woods for a change. Did you go all the way over and ski in the bowl(s) below Apex Proper? Any good on the ridge between Beaconsfield and Secondary Summit? Hu...
Awesome! Congrats on TAY! I got mine there on October 26, hardly any visibility and sharkies lurking under the fresh snow. Good on ya!
