Wanting a tour with my pup, Ariel, before a Super Bowl party, parked at the upper Tronsen plow-out and quickly skied up to the XC-15 trail underneath Diamond Head. In open areas, a hoar frost farm covered a semi-breakable crust. Carried on to the Windy Gully and ran into Sara the dog + 6 Ski Buddy pilgrims looking for an easier way down than the trail they'd just skied up. Guided them up and over Tronsen Head and down well-covered talus slopes to the road below on a couple of inches of snow/frost on a firm crust that became breakable just above the road. Sun, awesome views and no wind today but sadly, I was rooting for the Patriots.
Edit to add - no sign of snowmo's except when we saw tracks down in and around Haney Meadow.

Sorry about the Pats, Glenn. You know I can't stand either team having been an Eagles fan all my life. It was a bit hard to hold my attention to it as good a game as it was. Is Eli elite???
