Seeing what felt like the first weather window all spring, we decided to make a go at the Cascadian on Stuart on 6/7. Slept at TH, started walking up the trail at 3:40 AM, was treated to a glorious sunrise on Rainer...and was sorely disappointed when we crested longs pass to see that the route was out by quite a bit.

Disheartened but not discouraged, we traversed over to Ingalls pass and waited for the sun to warm us up. We booted up the south face of S. Ingalls to enjoy crystal clear views of the cascades while getting buffeted by very strong winds, then skied back down the face enjoying primo corn at around 10:30AM. Skinned up fortune and ripped fun turns down the bowl to about 5400, where played 'stay on snow as long as possible' to about 4900. Creeks were running very high and required wet feet on the trail back down to the TH. There is still a lot of snow and debris from a massive slide near the junction of Esmeralda and Ingalls trail.

Great day out, but Stuart will have to wait till next year. Still quite a bit of snow in Ingalls basin and Esmeralda basin, but likely melting fast...
