Andres and I got out for a nice day linking Baby Ruth with Ice Ice Baby. We followed the route taken by Lowell and Carl in 2003: https://turns-all-year.com/trip-reports/june-15-2003-ruth-icy-traverse-ncnp

It was an awesome, big day. We only made it to the W shoulder of Icy and passed on the scramble due to time and lack of know-where to go. The skiing was good although sticky, probably worst on the glacier off Icy but not bad. I thought the twin chutes SW of Ruth were really fun. Best corn was found skiing Ruth down to the creek. We wasted some time down low before deciding to re-ascend to ~5000' due W of point 5930 from where we were able to ski back to the trail and quickly switched to walking.

View from the trail near 4700'

Wolverine tracks?

Tracks leading into Pass Ck from Ruth/Icy divide. Very wide, 5 digits easily visible, shorter stride than I'd expect from a bear.

Looks like a fun tramp! Still a fair bit of snow hanging on despite the heat, huh?

It's been a good snow year I'd say
