Brief report:
1 foot of snow at parking lot
3 feet at top of Chair 1
We didn't go higher because we had no avy gear, but the lifty said "5 feet" has blown in near the summit. He said its the deepest snowpack he's seen this time of year, and he's been working there 25 years.
Didn't hit any rocks, but the snow was bottomless heavy stuff, quite wet, but getting powdery near the top of Chair 1.
Overall, it wasn't very good - very difficult to move through - but it was nice to play in the new snow :-)
You'll want *really* fat skis...

same sort of thing at stevens this am. i was there from 6am -> 9am. the good news is that the stuff that was coming down when I left was fairly light. fat skis and a nice wax job will help you "plane-off" better. my rig is all beat up so i was having a bit of trouble getting the speed to stay on top. just wan't high enough for the good stuff - it has got to be nice around 6,000 ft right now....
