Posse of six went up the Wintun Glacier on Shasta, Saturday. Three ski-less climbers opted for scree-skiing down the Clear Creek route. The snow on the Wintun was as good as you could hope for in August in California. Scored around 3400' of continuous turns. Two first-time summiters and two melted-out ice axes found. The Crown Chakra provides.
