Baker bag with Dem Boyz 5/26-27 (my two sons, Brian and Russell + a friend Bastien). Parked almost at Heliotrope TH, maybe .2 miles shy, departed about 3:30pm. Saw some people living with two goats in their van. Check that off the list. Went up to 6k' via main trail and camped out on a little knoll with proximity to a dry spot for our eating hangout that had rocks to sit on. Skinning started just before forest ended on the way up, the walking was about 1.5 hours, then ~45 mins of skinning to camp spot. Enjoyed a great evening with a beaut of a sunset over the inland waters and Vancouver. Easy skinning w crampons to the Coleman Deming Col next morning, with a very casual 8am departure, boot crampons and axe from there.

Summit at about 12:30. Dropped Roman Wall at about 1, still quite firm, amazing corn glory from the Col to camp, not bad skiing from camp to the start of walking on the trail. Amazing two days, we will do this one again over the years for sure due to the variety of terrain, the views, the skiing etc. The Cascades are AMAZING!

On the way to the Col

Looks great, I think you scored the best day of the week!

How was the trail before snow line? Lots of blowdowns/shwacking on the trail or was it smooth going?

Went that way yesterday and we had the whole side of the mountain to ourselves. Easy travel on the glacier, smooth snow. No corn on the Roman wall even at 2 pm, but there was windblown patches of powder and scoured snow that skied fine. Once down the saddle onto the Coleman, the snow turned into great corn. This became a tad sticky at the base of the football field but still skied really great on our run out.
