First of all I want to thank mtnpavlas for getting the site back up and running. I started looking at this site obsessively 10 years ago when I was 18 and started a passion of backcountry ski adventures with my friends. Seeing this site restarted and having more trip reports again is getting me stoked! Hope we can keep this weird little community alive on this platform.

I recently moved to Bend and this is my first spring out here. Went for an awesome mellow overnighter to ski Middle Sister. Put a basecamp at the base of the Hayden Glacier and summited Middle Sister around 2 p.m. Skied the SW side in awesome hot pow off the summit for the first 1000 or so feet, lower down it transitioned to some pretty epic mush. Still not quite corn season down here yet, easily a foot and or more of new snow from the last week high in the alpine. Got some of the best turns of the trip during an evening ski run on the Hayden. Excited to explore more terrain down here!

Me dropping in off the summit

Nice trip report and photos. It reminds me of when we did the Three Sisters traverse on this holiday weekend a few years ago.😉

Nice! Saw some nice tracks on Hayden through the binoculars from my house that Sun, probably yours. :) When did you go in?  Were you at the TH lot Fri eve?  If so I might have seen your party... I was just coming out and catching up with some splitboard friends who were also in the lot camping and heading out early Sat, and saw a couple other folks in the lot.  (I was coming out from a N Sister mission that day, Thayer headwall in pow, unreal...)

We got to the lot Saturday AM, so probably not our crew.. that’s so sweet you got the Thayer in pow!! I probably saw your tracks, looked pretty dang dreamy. I can’t wait to ski that line soon! First spring here trying to get out as much as possible!
