Greg W, Mike G, and I headed east Friday, and had an enjoyable ascent and descent of Iron Mt via Beverly Creek. Conditions were stable on E-NE aspects with 4"-6" of saturated snow that was well bonded to the layer below, and aside from being schmoo skied rather well. Cuts S and W aspects caused very slow moving slides also 4-6"deep. The most exciting part of the trip is crossing a rather raging Earl Creek. An extra pair of socks isn't such a bad idea. A couple pesky snow patches prevented driving to the TH parking lot causing a 10 minute road walk. Snow melting fast, and it's about a 15 min hike to continuous snow from the Earl Creek Crossing. Must have been lot's of avy activity in the Beverly Creek valley as their is some impressive tree carnage compared to recent years, older trees missing limbs 20' up!-- Steve

Nice! I am planning to head in to camp/ski in the Stafford Creek area, so the photos and road ifor are very helpful. Looks like the snow is still holding up well in spite of the warm weather.
