Oh, what an excellent blue bird & sunshine kind of a day 8) Josh and I headed down to paradise with a friend who'd never been to Rainier before and some new gear to play with.

We first descended the road from paradise thinking that we would hit the mazama back bowl.  Upon arriving at our desired location we decided to press on as there was maybe 1-2" on a hard non-breakable crust.

We ended up doing a run down Bundy's.  The snow was a little heavy but easily turnable on a board.  We then headed back up again and did another run a bit further down the ridge towards the waterfall.  Again turnable, but definitely not as good as before due to all the sun baking.  And we decided to head up mazama ridge once again.  This time we headed south for just a sec and then dropped down to the road.  Damn!  We should have been riding this area all day.  Perhaps 2"-6" of fluffy fluffy goodness.  Oh well.  The sun was setting and it was time to reattach the skins and get back to the car.

Mmmm....mmm...good.  Hope you all find some tommorrow!

Good report.
Thanks, Adrianne.
We're headed up there this am and your report helps.

Soinds like it was sunshine, stable fluff, and grins all around yesterday.   8)
