Spent a full day roaming around the Kendall Zone and skied a few lines. East facing aspects above treeline were predictably a gnarly combination of wind-scoured and/or sun-affected and very tough skiing. However, sheltered North-facing snow continues to be in great shape! At the top of some runs more wind slab was apparent but seemed to be a few days old. Couple good boot packs are already in place making travel fairly easy. Surface hoar on made some skin tracks super slippery. Did trigger a small fresh windslab (15 ft wide) on a rollover on the upper southern reaches of Kendall, near the mainline chutes entrance. The open south/southwest slopes above kendall trees were terrible suncrust that threatened to trap skis and twist knees. So in conclusion...N facing is still where it's at if you can get to it.
Kendall certainly looked nice on Sunday! I was a bit jealous when I noticed all of the tracks in this picture. They don't really come through once I scale it down to TAY quality, but they are there.

Never seen powder stick around for this long at Snoqualmie Pass. Good call seeking out those deep N facing couloirs.

This is such a awesome view of that zone! I assume this is from your misadventure on Alaska the same day...and yes, could not believe that snow was still holding up. probably still is, I don't think the upper sections of those couloirs see any sun still this time of year.
