The entrance into the White Salmon drainage was filled in, breakable crust in the open and mush in the trees. The snow in shaded areas above 5k or so was cold but wind-affected. Lapping the WSG didn't seem too appealing so we continued through Hell's Highway to the summit.

Skied from a bit below the summit starting at 4:30pm. The summit pyramid was nicely filled in, icy but edgeable. It had been sunny and calm all day but some light high clouds in the afternoon kept it reasonably cool on the upper mountain. The WSG skied much better than expected. Wide skis helped a lot. It was warm in the valley even after the sun went down which made for mushy snow with no crust. The sticky snow made skinning out easy.
Great report and pics!

A fantastic TR.  I've been thinking about doing this route and appreciate all the detail to know it's in right now.

Thanks, just keep in mind that this was before it got really warm. I wouldn't count on finding similar conditions.

Looks like you got it pretty good. Big streak for you this year!
