March 04, 2008, - Kendal Knob dawn Patrol

Quick spin up and down kendal Knob from Exit 53.  A good 10" new snow on top of resonably bonded soft crust (likely as it rained/snowed while it was still warm) above a very wet sugary deep layer.  Pit revealed good stability on SW slope (base of the ridge away from the wind).  Turns from the top were fantastic until 2/3 way down when it changed to the usual concrete.  Trees were a bit thin on cover.  Would have started at 6am but my partner managed to lock himself out of the car.  No biggie except that the skins were still inside.  Had to drive back to N. Bend to collect spare.

However a great way to spend the morning before work.
