Got the hall pass from the wife and headed up to the Timberline lodge. They currently don't allow snowskates on the lifts, but they say you can hike to your heart's content.  I didn't feel like negotiating so...

Got to the lodge at 6:30am to try to get the best hiking conditions.  Left the lot around 7am.  I climbed about 3 hours to 9000' before descending.  I had big goals of getting to near all the way to the Hogsback, but due to the fact that I'm not in that good of shape, I stopped well short.

Conditions were great with soft, fast snow down to the Magic Mile.  Below that it was super sticky and almost tossed me off my board a couple times.

Not the most interesting report, but utilizing a snowskate makes it more fun!

Climbing up in the fog

Resting before descent

Riding down the Palmer field

Nice work with the self-timer on that last photo!  You must be quick on your feet.

This is commendably silly!

It may, in fact, be an up-and-coming trend in the backcountry.
