On south facing slopes above the highway 6500-3500' Chris found slightly heavy sunwarmed snow. Across the street onnorth slopes we found 16" ski penetration on heavy but smooth old snow with occasional light wind crust. Worth the long drive to escape crusty conditions on the crest.

Thanks for the info. Did you go up the highway or tour right out of the snow park?
