Hayrick Butte continues to deliver

What a way to reign in the new year. Great snow, more fantastic stability, what fun. Boy oh boy was the lot busy however. I didn't realize how big the snowmobiling community was. A lot of skiers as well, most I've ever seen. Cut up the SE face again, and even managed to skin to the summit! Previously, conditions implied always doing a boot-up the last 70' or so.

Dug a pit, and although a melt-freeze layer presented itself about 30'' deep, there was no propagation. I imagine the snow this week with higher temps will lead to less stable conditions presenting themselves here. We will see how warm it actually gets.
