Just like on Super Bowl Sunday, Ron, Bonnie, and I made several trips to the refrigerator ;).  Unlike the one at home, this one offered open areas and tree skiing.  Our north facing slope held lots of great turns.  Temps in the high 20, no wind (in our area) and lightly snowing by days end.

Wind packed snow and crusts on various other aspects.
Leave it to you and Ron to know the best snack bars in town. Let me know of your next mellow tour, cause I think I'm almost up and running again--well not literally running--but just about upgraded to freestyle mobilization.  :) Hope to see you sooon!

Might of seen you guys yesterday...glad you got some goods!  Trees seemed to be the word of the day...

Here's some shots of Bonnie and Jeanette raiding the 'fridge ;)

A few more shots HERE.

Also, as others have noted elsewhere, newer NPS Rangers Ken and Dan were both out and about on backcountry ski gear and both seemed sincerely interested in developing positive relationships with winter users of the Park.  Both appeared to be exemplary emissaries for the Park Service in the sometimes challenging communications between the NPS and the public users.

Very nice to meet you both, Dan and Ken. Many of us hope to see more of you.

Looking good folks!  Hope to see you soon...  8)

Huh!, we skied it Friday and it was heavy and wet!  did a a tour from Paradise-4th Crossing-Vantrump Monument, Pardise River, Golden Gate, to Paradise: all ice or breakable crust!

Bummer, Andy,
Sounds like by passing up north facing Mazama bowl that alpymarr and gang partied on and skipping the reefer you may have missed pretty much all the skiable snow on the mountain. Hope you at least got back to your car by 1:00 ;)

Yeah, I don't know; that N face was pretty heavily skied and areas that were nice on Fri were all breakable crust and ice on Monday.  The reefer was probably o.k., but if I was going to ski that y'day, I would have parked at Narada to avoid all the breakable crust on the way down.

BUT, it was no bummer (even tho we never took skins off)!  We had a great tour with good weather and nice views!

Nice trees, Ron---where were you when you took the pix?
