Wasn't planning on skiing today but when the telemetry was showing 10+" of new I couldn't resist. Too bad the light fluff fell on a stout ice crust, we were sinking right through and scraping around on the ice...not great. Lower angle open slopes would probably have been a better move than Kendall trees which we skied today.

No instabilities observed, no wind effect up to the top of of lower kendall trees or even the slide path. Just dry pow on top of that crust.
Well we went into the Kendall trap zone today. Besides tricky skinning up the stump due to pow on crust, the skiing was fantastic. Only open slopes got that grade, anything with tree cover got chunky crust with some pow, not awesome.
Why the trap today?? Well, zero wind slab, the usual winds not present and with the east flow Kendall was nicely sheltered all day. 3 laps of great quality then out.

POW on crusty crust ice. Yes.
Yesterday (sunday) @ Rampoart Ridge I found the crust on the downtrack too which made for rubbinsh snowboarding. Possible that I'm heavier with a shorter snowboard etc etc etc. Pretty bad ride down except the real low angle stuff which was delicious.
