I skied all weekend at the pass and am still here! Saturday was fun on the Alpental lifts and Sunday was also great, stable powder in the Kendall slidepath.

It started snowing in earnest Sunday afternooon. There was insanely deep snow at Summit Central for Monday morning. We rode lifts for 2 hrs, until things were getting tracked out, and Triple 60 was having issues, so we took a break in the lodge. The plan we cooked up was to head to Hyak and tour.

It was almost too deep to move except in the steepest runs. Incredible snow quality. A good posse of folks lapping and loving it. Tracks were refilling every run. We skied until 3:30 pm with one lap on Hidden Valley left. We noticed increasingly sensitive storm slabs throughout the day.

We had dinner at our friends' cabin. Lifts were running at Central, so we went that way after dinner and had great skiing from 7 until 9:15. Winds and snowfall increased. We almost couldn't drive back to the cabin. The Impreza was getting faceshots, and I had to drive with my goggles on looking out the window, otherwise I'd have crashed into a snowbank!

By that point the pass was closed and we were snowed in. Woke up Tuesday to more snow: our car nearly fully buried and the road unplowed. We attempted to tour at Wildside. Breaking trail was very hard work, so luckily some groomers were working in the area and we could use their tracks for some of the way. It turned out to be too deep to even really ski, besides backseat straight-lining down the steeper parts. Storm slabs were popping anywhere steep. After a short while we called it and skied the groomed path back to the road and the cabin.

In the afternoon, our road got plowed but we missed the 3 p.m. convoy which were the only cars that escaped West during the day. Luckily, Meira's school in Bellevue was again canceled Wednesday. We will report back if we end up skiing today!
Kamtron, agreed!  Crazy Deep.  Toured up Silver Fir Tuesday am.  If not for the groom path, never would have made it to the top of Outback.  Transitioned there, and other than straight-lining Outback, it was too deep to move.  Took the groom back down, which was great.  Luckily caught the 3:00 pm caravan back down, since the power was out.

Power came back for us at 11 pm last night, which makes cabin life deluxe!
Oh, and Dru Bru was running on generators and had a full house enjoying the brews and ability to charge their devices.

nice!  Too much snow to ski... makes those of us on the other side feel a little less FOMOing, heh.
Thanks for the report Kam, must be beautiful up there.

More school closure snow days down here in the lowlands than can ever be made up now...

Made it to North Bend in the noon convoy. But we snuck in two touring laps of Central. The snow is creaming up and getting heavy. There were some wet loose sluffs and roller balls starting when we left. Monday was certainly “the day” of best snow quality and very fun laps all around.

Avy danger is certainly high at the moment. Hopefully with the less cold temps things will settle out quickly. Take it slow if you head out touring. (You will be forced to anyway with the excruciating trail breaking.)

Pics to come later.

Thanks for the report.
I had the pleasure of about the exact same Monday, so good up there. Unreal refills.

I don't remember the last time I skied pow that deep.
