Chris Prince and I drove up for a short sunny day. We found plenty of fresh snow on the sides of the Toilet Bowl, but very variable on a pronounced slide crust. Got treed and gullied out a bit higher than the low spot due to all the trees showing with the low coverage.
We followed an old skin track up to the ridge and dug a pit at the base of Steep & Icy, NNE slope of 30 deg. CT21Q2 at about 9", and we saw natural slab and point-release mischief on the 45 deg. slope there.
So, it was back up the Ridge to run snappy laps on the Lodge Run. Very warm with good views, including the storm finally creeping in from the ocean.

good to see folks out there getting the goods in the olympics. I want to ski some lines out there soon, sounds like they need a bit more coverage.

Not much snow around Hurricane, but many roads are blocked far from the skiing due to the wierd lowland snowstorms. I think someone should investigate.... 8)
