Eightmile: NE Face
The same day that Mike Rolfs saw 696 people on the Colchuck trail (https://turns-all-year.com/trip-reports/colchuck), Pat, Ben, and I decided to try something different. We made the surprisingly easy hike to Eightmile's NE side. Some people would like a little more snow for this tour, but we still had a great time and spent the same amount of time on the approach as we would getting to the Colchuck Glacier. In a more normal (very bony in the Stuart Range this year) season, this would make a very convenient spring ski with mileage comparable to Colchuck, but with easier walking and steeper skiing. Of course, off sleds, this line is Stuart Range powder classic. I was stoked to find it a great spring option too!
