After over a month of disconnect between our commitments at sea level and rather uncertain skiing conditions in the Olympics, Jan and I finally managed to find a narrow window today where the road was open, the snow was falling and we had time to slip past the infrequently open gate. ;)
With a forecast of strong winds and continued snow ( :D) we elected to park at the "Maggies" pullout and enjoy the skiing on more sheltered leeward slopes. Right behind us were local friends Peter, Lilly and Carl.
We climbed through steady snowfall, as we neared the ridge, we were met with the expected blast of SW winds. We found the nearest shelter, transitioned and enjoyed great boot top powder back down to the car ("Maggies Nose").
Lap two involved enduring the ridge top winds long enough to skin further north along the ridge line to "Maggies Winkles". Here we found deeper snow and steeper terrain.
Due to limited visibility, and some technical difficulties, we only got a few pictures;
1. A gentleman always lets a lady go first
2. Except when there is powder to be skied ...................

Today (12/31) was epic. All your tracks had filled in with new snow. No wind. Crisp air temp. Mostly sunny. Ranger Dave set the early skintrack and got in two laps before traffic duty called him away. I did 9 laps (new PR) without crossing a track except at the runout. Quite a few people out and about as well. Did not see any tracks into north bowl. Since I was by myself I decided to stay on the road side so I could drag myself down if needed. Heard the parking lot was full but didn't confirm. As someone said, the best skiing in North America right now.
