Coleman Pinnacle + Mt Ann
Spent Friday-Sunday skiing various areas of the Baker backcountry during a mostly beautiful stretch of weather. The skiing in the Herman Saddle area on Friday was a mix of bad snow and even worse visibility. With some perseverance and blind optimism the weather Saturday cleared by the time we reached the Coleman Pinnacle where we enjoyed some great north facing skiing and a lap off of Video Peak on the way back. Sunday we made the trip out to Mt Ann. Travel was easy following the summer trail with no issues crossing any of the creeks. Unfortunately the overnight wind event took it's toll on the snow but we were still able to find good skiing. What a November we have had!
Mt Ann
...sounds like you had a stout weekend. Congrats!
That's a compelling photo of Shuksan (unless I'm wrong?) wearing it's winter outfit, with extra uptrack action.
Good way to get out there!
I agree, Friday was totally bust. I missed out on Saturday but had a nice ramble to finish the weekend.
Crowded in the nearby zones, I think I'll abstain from posting in those areas to not encourage the herds
Jake the Brit: Certainly is Shuksan!
Kamtron: Have you found the herds to be larger than normal this year?
I'm new to the Bellingham area, after living in Seattle, so I'm not sure what's normal. Although it's always busy in Bagley basin I suppose
