The first time I ever rode a splitboard was in 2016 with my East Coast crew at Blackcomb with the "Extremely Canadian" guiding service. I documented that trip (and day) in the iconic Youtube video (which is now back online after repeatedly getting taking down due to copyright infringement of the soundtrack).  After that day, I was hooked, and so it was a natural place to take my new protégé Scotty B for his first splitboard experience. We headed to the base on 7th Heaven Express and skinned a bomber track to the top of Disease Ridge. From here, we did a quick lap down the Chuting Gallery. The snow was stable and surprisingly light and dry. Scotty struggled a little bit on the skin track (kick turns can be a bitch) so we only had time for one more lap. We booked it up the ridge and dropped the bowl. The shots speak for themselves. I think the Scotty is hooked too!
