Had plans to try Mt.Hood Sat morning, but scrapped them Friday night due to forecast for high winds and incoming weather...so we figured a good plan B would be a quickie tour up at Snoqualmie and try to beat the rain.
Andy had never skied Holy Diver and we had hopes that maybe it would have some preserved soft snow hiding the shade. Left the car at 7am to try and beat the morning heat/sun....the clouds were actually a welcome sight and kept the temperature comfy but not hot as we booted up the chute to top of Roosevelt.
Avy debris is all over the place around Snow Lake...seems like anything not heavily treed and near something steep is kind of a lumpy mess.
Unfortunately Holy Diver was also rather textured with debris...albeit soft and reasonably skiable debris until we got towards the bottom where we found the occasional lane of supporting crust with some pseudo corn on top. The traverse and climb back around to the divide west of Snow Lake went fine and the ski down to Snow Lake was a shmooey mess.
Still nice to get out, didn't get rained on and saw the sun for at least a bit this morning.

Pretty similar conditions in the Slot and Phantom. The top half of the gully held good powdery snow, while down low rollerball-dodging was in effect. Nice couple hundred feet of corn on the way back down the front before some breakable, then better soft snow where more consolidated down low. Tricky skinning conditions coming up in the morning.
