G-r-e-a-t skiing in the AM on a NE facing slope with 4 to 8 inches of light but not smoky powder on a hard crust. 2 inches were new and the rest unconsolidated from yesterday.
Mostly cloudy and shade kept this snow good til afternoon. The snow would move under pressure at some points on ~30 degree skin track in trees, but was stable where we were at up to maybe 30 degree slope. Wetter and heavier below and in the sun on the way down.
The two of us met one single and a party of 4 incl Jeff_S. Room for all.
Here's a phone photo fuzzy enough not to reveal all the pretty S's or the spot.
