I'd imagine there'd be 2+ feet of wind deposited snow on sheltered and lee slopes at Mission. Maybe I'll report back after skiing tomorrow.

Aaron, I'd bet there is snow all the way from Mission to Spokane. Two feet of fresh, downed trees on a multitude of aspects..... ;)

My favorite weather...

Thanks for the talk last night Gary -- good stuff.  We went out and mulled it over at the Old Time...

Thanks, Marcus. Glad you enjoyed it.

Insane conditions at Mission today, easily the most snow I've seen from a system of storms here. A little late getting the quad started, they had removed the chairs because of the wind. Lapped chair three while waiting, great snow in the glades and the named trails were even good, not much grooming, just a little cat packing from the previous days. When the quad opened skied Alah, No Name, Nertz, blah, blah, blah. Central park was unbelievable, bottomless fluff no windeffect. My friend Doni works patrol and she said they tossed a bomb up by the towers in microwave bowl and the whole thing released, up to three foot crown. Stopped skiing a 2, my friend Adam was dragging me around all day and I was worked. Almost a foot of snow on my truck when I left. Some people couldn't get out of the lot. It's dumping snow in Wenatchee now, with about 4-6" new on the ground. I don't think the forecasters saw this coming. -Aaron

I have to agree with Aaron; Mission was off the hook!  I haven't seen that much new snow up there in a long time.  Delayed opening on the quad was to be expected so we did the same and lapped Chair 3 a couple of times to get our fix.    Once the Liberator opened it was a mad dash to get to your favorites before someone else did.  We ended the day with a short hike to Microwave towers and Bowl 4.  We saw evidence of patrol control work at the top of the towers, and there was one crater that didn't go near where we dropped in on Bowl 4.  Top 6 inches was sluffing so we stuck to the trees. Check the telemetry for the last 24 hours, especially the maximum wind speed:  135 mph!

I remember reading somewhere on the internet that the highest wind gust ever recorded on Mission was 132 mph. Maybe this is a new record?

What a storm! We lost power a 0300 friday and just now(2000) had our electricity restored. I hope everyone had fun skiing today.
