I was heading back to Ellensburg from Stevens Pass on Sunday and you could tell the atmosphere was quite unstable over Mission. Near the mountain there were what appeared to be about 6 lenticular clouds stacked on top of each other, with a mushroom looking cloud on top of the lenticulars. I wished I had a camera with me because this was one of the coolest looking cloud formations I have seen. Did anybody else on the Eastside see this cloud?

I'm still without power at my place here in Wenatchee, 3 days after the windstorm on Sunday (and yes, I live right in town). PUD crews are working around the clock to get service restored but have told us it might be the end of the week before we're back up and running. >:( At least the in-laws have a place here where we can crash! Now hopefully we don't get the artic temps they are calling for...

We were marveling at the lenticular clouds over Naneum Ridge while standing in the street in front of our house in Wenatchee. We were also trying to keep upright in the hurricane force winds and watching trees fall all over our neigborhood. We were again without power, this time for over 48 hrs, and also trapped for a day and a half because our neighbor's elm fell across the street taking a utility pole and transformer with it. The news coverage doesn't really do justice to this wind event, it looks like the aftermath of a Cat. 1 hurricane. CW, where are you in town? The south end seems to be the hardest hit, we live near the mouth of No. 2 Canyon. Hope your power is restored soon.ß

I've seen multiple stacked lenticulars 6 deep over a mountain once before - over the Fitzroy in Patagonia. it was beautiful - quickly followed by weeks of continuous storm.

YAY, power! Our service was restored yesterday afternoon, a full 3 days after going out. Aaron, we're located just off the hospital and it was the main lines on the south end of Miller near Crawford that took us out. But fortunately we weren't trapped like it sounds like you were; that is crazy! Quite an event to be sure. And now it looks like the goods have returned to Mission Ridge; 2 degrees at the summit and 10" in the past 24 hrs. Just beware the wind scour... ;)
