Crystal and Big Sky and Boyne Resorts was created by Keith_Henson
Was anybody else blind sided like I was at the ski bonkers ad crystal sent out today?
According to the email, the 10 free days at big sky with your crystal pass are only valid if: FREE ski/ride offer at Big Sky Resort... is valid only with paid lodging booked by calling the resort's reservations department. Visit boyneusaresorts.com for details" and this proviso has now been added to the crystal webbsite.
This was NOT the case when I bought my pass on may 31. What a bunch of crap. Like I would really want to book a room through Boyne or stay at one of their over priced places even IF I didn't already have a place to stay in Big Sky (my cousin's condo). This is clearly a breach of contract. I bought a pass at crystal that included 10 free days at big sky---period. And that offer played a big decision in my getting a season's pass for next year. That they have decided to change the rules is outrageous.
I sent an email to crystal and await a response.
I better stop before I go off the deep end...

Keith, I couldn't agree more ! My decision to purchase a full season rather than my normal mid week was based on at least 10 days at B.S. I have not seen stats on how many Crystal Pass Holders make the trip to B.S however I am sure someone in management could tell us. I have yet to ascertain what Boyne is thinking when it alienates it's most loyal customers. Do they realize there are other choices out there ? I call BS on Boyne Corp on this one. My untrained legal trap like mind would would suggest that arbitrarily changing the terms and conditions would constitute some sort of breach or voiding. Any licensed practitioners think class action ?

They're sticking it to a lot of folks on a number of levels, but I suspect there's fine print somewhere stating something along the lines of "management reserves the right to change terms anytime they fucking well feel like it."

I'll be anxious to hear what the response is from crystal.
I did buy with a credit card and I am fairly confident that they would go to bat for me if I wanted my money back--which I don't. I just want them to deliver what they sold. Unfortunately, I have since canceled the credit card I used!
It just leaves me sad, angry, and bewildered.

The worst part is that they know many of us will simply sigh, shake our heads, write them a letter that will never be answered, and buy anyway. It sucks when the seller of any product has you by the short hairs.
I wrote them last week about the new children's pass pricing structure and have heard zip. I don't expect that I will.

Check out the winter package deals at Big Sky (aka Pig Sty) web site. You get free lift tickets with the Boyne lodging offerings. So the offer of free lifts is totally hollow.
