Fischer "BCX OuttaBounds Crown" skis, 189cm length (88/68/78) in reasonable condition.

These are old school backcountry skis: metal edges, fishscale bases, heel elevators, three-pin bindings, "camber-and-a-half." They're very light but perfectly capable--fun for tooling around on moderate slopes to about 30 degrees and rolling terrain, and will turn in telemark position if properly weighted. I used them a lot with lightweight boots until I got some much fatter and heavier fishscaled skis (with ridiculously complicated boots and bindings) for about forty times the price.

It's worth bearing in mind that they are designed for someone approximately my size--6'0" and 200lbs--and reportedly don't work well for folks a lot shorter and lighter who may have difficulty flattening out the camber for good kick/glide and turning.

Asking $30

Haha, "camber-and-a-half." I think there are more millimeters of camber than the ski is wide. If there is such a thing as ski width to camber ratio in ski design these would be outliers for sure.

Far from an outlier--in fact, I've got actual "double cambered" skis with a lot more camber and a lot less width than these. It wasn't I who applied the phrase "camber and a half;" it was various ski manufacturers, testers and reviewers. Apparently you were never part of the target audience.

I'm not going to bother explaining it to you, but if you want to learn something, this was at the top of the Google page: eddie.dnsprive.com/~telemark/viewtopic.php?t=1639 . I'd skip the fluff and start reading a third of the way down.

These skis are fun for casual touring in spring conditions--not so much for bottomless powder, obviously. They're ridiculously light by modern standards, match well with light boots, and the bindings are foolproof. Furthermore, the price is definitely right. Sometimes it's nice to cruise around on skis without making a huge production out of it. Mileage, as they say, varies.

I clicked on the link and read about camber, which explained things I only suspected with my first setup - Karhu Guides. They were my gateway drug into the backcountry world. But I stuffed the tips into snowdrifts one too many times and moved on to noodle-y setups that I can shmoosh around through the trees and look like a far better skier that I really am. I lacked the technique to ski the Karhus and resorted to buying my game.

I had the Outtabounds and the Guides. But the first skis I had were 195 cm waxless Karhu XCD GT DOUBLE camber backcountry skis with 3-pin bindings and Asolo leather boots. Fast, light, and climbed like crazy—I never needed skins but they were a bear for me to turn.

Well, lets not forget that skis like those were instrumental in building this site !
(full disclosure)
One of my favorite skis now in my mature years is Madshus Annums sized short with Dynafit TLT bindings.
