Hi! I want to try touring but rentals are impossible and buying is very committing!
I’m  5’1”. I’ve downhill skis that are 160s but was hoping to get something in mid 150s for uphill. I got boots but still looking for skis/skins/bindings . If you have old kid stuff in my height category I would be game for that as well.
thanks!

You can get an older touring setup in good shape for a very reasonable price if you keep your eye on used sites like craigslist. Use it for a while to see if you really like the sport, then spend big $$$$ on the shiniest new gear if you want.

I’ve been trolling craigslist for the past two years; have yet to see anything shorter than 160cm :( a friend of mine suggested here.

At 159 it’s still a bit longer than I think I’d be comfortable with (slightly too long in the resor is one thing… slightly too long backcountry I get nervous)
