History in relation to the best skis I ever skied

It will be interesting to see how far back any of the old timers go on this topic for something to read in the off season.
In 1990 or 91 not sure exactly, the Rossignol 4S which was a slalom ski was by far the coolest of skis to ski powder with.
It turned easily in the deep snow and had great spring off of the tail to porpoise turns and was a champion in its own rite.
I skied this ski at the resort and then put tele bindings on another pair to ski the backcountry for several years. I still remember
this ski with great heartfelt appreciation and for me it was The Powder Ski until the mid 90's when the AK launcher came on the
scene with wide dimensions and 90mm's underfoot, but before the shaped ski revolution the 4S for me was the $$ski.
