Sounds like decision making will get more attention in avalanche courses this year, I've heard from a number of educators. There certainly are several recent case studies: Mt Snoqualmie, Kendall, and Cowboy to name three.

There's a large article coming 12/17 from New York Times. Sounds like it will comprise the majority of the 16-page sports section.
