Chinook Pass Coverage? was created by Rusty Knees
With Chinook at the same elevation as Paradise, and having some grassy slopes adjacent to the road, what do people think of the possibility of finding some easily accessible snow to ski on?

Thanks! Rusty Knees aka Don Heath

With a forecast today of 42 degrees and up to 1/2 inch of rain, it's not looking good for the Pass. The snow level is moving down to 6,000 ft Sunday afternoon and into the week so may get some wet snow on the upper slopes.

Over the years I've noticed that in the fall there is a direct correlation between good skiing and the road closure

I had to throw on my chains to cross Chinook pass yesterday morning. It looked a bit thin for good skiing but it's starting to accumulate.

Chinook Pass is closed. WSDOT says temporarily, but I wouldn't be surprised if they close it for the season.
