Anyone spent much time touring out that way? I have some time off next week and the weather is forcing me to seek eastern environs. Was thinking of checking out the Anthony lakes area, but I have never been there. Any info would be appreciated.

I have done two trips to Anthony lakes during Dec and Feb a couple of years ago. Lots of good touring access within 1.5 mi from the ski resort base. Several chutes and tree runs in the Lees Peak and Angel basin vicinity. You can venture out a little further via the cross country trails to the backside on Gunsight mountain and Van Patten butte for longer tours. Had a buddy tour there in spring and said some stuff definitely melts out fairly quick.
