Adams S side approach conditions? was created by JCoates
Anyone good enough to share road conditions for the south side approach? How close to the trailhead before you have to skin? I promise I won't snake your line...

I am also trying to determine the access of adams.  How far out is the road?  Anyone?

We went on the 18th and there was still snow for about 4 miles to Cold Spring Campground.

Thanks for responding.  Hope you had a good trip.
That is still a ways out.  I wonder how much has melted.

Yeah, unless you’ve got a sled it’s still a very long approach. Good luck!

We went to pikers peak and then skied a variation of sw chutes. Didn’t go to the top. This was during the recent warm spell. The snow was good corn up top and very thick glop down below.

Right on, sounds like you made a good mission out of it.  Thanks for sharing.  4 miles seems a bit much for me.

It was a very long day. I always underestimate that mountain.

Send a report if you go. Planning to go back in a few weeks and good to know how the road is looking. Thanks.

Kam, are you planning a trip this weekend? Report back on the status of Morrison Creek campground?

No, Jesski, I will wait for more consolidated conditions (and my broken elbow to heal) before heading that way

5/6 update: road is blocked by snow around 4300'. Moderate dry carry to morrison cr. Snow is continuous but thin on the road to cold springs. Road should be drivable to just shy of morrison in a few days.

Snow in great shape with the odd runnel here and there on the winter route.
