Looking for beta on Mt. Daniel. Looking for a one day excursion. It's either get up early and drive to Rainier or Adams from Ellensburg, or get up early and hike early. Need to know if the Hyas Creek Glacier/snow field still holds snow or if I'm looking to have to hike further to the Daniels or Lynch Glaciers? Looking to go at the end of the month on the 28th or 29th.

My wife and I backpacked the PCT from Stevens to Snoqualmie recently. These where taken on Aug 6th. I have no idea if they help. The views of Daniel and Hinman were pretty obscured from the PCT. One of them does show the trail up to Peggy's Pond.

I have no idea how to embed the photos in the thread using IMGUR. Any suggestions?

Hi Phil,

It looks like imgur has images at a url that is obtained by appending .jpg to your links. I found them by following your links w/ javascript disabled.

Best,
Micah

I don't have any shots of the Hyas 'Glacier' basin, but I did just spend a few days up at Jade Lake area and headed up to Dip Top/Lynch one day.

Macroview

Daniel glacier looks like there *might* be a line...

Lynch is looking tricky as well, and there is a massive bergschrund at the top

Perfect. Just what I was looking for. Unfortunately the Jolly Mt. Fire has the road closed to Salmon La Sac area.
