Here is a new one I stumbled across in another forum. Satellite imagery of decent enough quality that you can make out the receding snowline in spring. No need to wonder how far you might make it up the road before being stopped by snow. Simply check the satellite imagery for the most recent sunny day.
For example from the May 7th imagery I can see that NF-8040 on Mt Adams is clear to the morison creek campground with it looks like almost skins on from the parking lot. Snow blocks the road to the upper South Climb Trailhead on the second hairpin.
Or from the same May 7th imagery, Pole Creek to North Sister is a little past its prime with quite a bit of walking. Probably means a lot of walking would need to be done now.
